Industrial Relations is often treated as crisis work — something attended to when a dispute arises. This session made the case for IR as a continuous discipline built on trust, consistency and credible communication.
Mr. S. Rajendren drew on decades at JK Tyre’s Chennai plant to describe what separates organisations that manage IR well from those that lurch between settlements: the quality of day-to-day supervisor relationships, the discipline of documentation, and the willingness to address small grievances before they harden.
The meeting was held online, opening it to members across the wider region.
